I was born in Ioannina. I am married to Petros Tzimas, Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology at the Medical School of the University of Ioannina, and the mother of a boy.
I graduated from the 4th Lyceum of Ioannina and was admitted to the Medical School of the University of Ioannina from which I graduated.
I performed the field service at the (Regional Clinic of Kalentziou, K.Y. Pramanton) and then I served as a specialist Pathologist at the Pathology Clinic and the Artificial Kidney Unit of the General Hospital of Arta.
I specialized in Cardiology at the Cardiology Clinic of the University Hospital of Ioannina. After finishing the specialty, I further specialized in Echocardiography of adults and children, as well as in the pre-athletic examination at "Tzanio" General Hospital of Piraeus..
In 2012 I obtained the title of Doctor of the Medical School of the University of Ioannina on the effect of antiplatelet drugs on thrombosis and inflammation in patients with acute coronary syndrome. I am therefore specialized in monitoring patients receiving anticoagulant (antiplatelet or anticoagulant) treatment.
I have written and scientific activity and I have participated in the elaboration of 40 papers published in international journals. I have been a collaborator in 10 multicenter studies. I have participated in many scientific conferences, Greek and international, with lectures or announcements. I have received scholarships, awards and distinctions.
I am a founding member of the Institute for the Study and Training in Thrombosis and Anticoagulation Education.
